Discover Reformed

We are the historical and theological children of the Reformation, which means that we affirm and teach five essential truths:

  • The Bible alone is our authority, the only standard for faith and life
  • We are saved by grace alone
  • We are saved through faith alone
  • We are saved in Christ alone
  • We are saved to the glory of God alone

Constitution

Our beliefs are codified in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Constitution of the RPCNA.

Summary of Beliefs

A shorter version of our beliefs are as follows:

  • People exist to glorify and enjoy God forever.
  • The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, the only infallible rule for faith and life.
  • There is one living and true God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who are three persons in one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.
  • All people are conceived in sin, needing the sovereign grace of God to lead them to repent of sin and confess Jesus as Lord.
  • Sinners are saved from their sin only by the atoning death of Jesus and by the free gift of His righteousness.
  • All Christians live in a covenant relationship with God and need to keep that relationship healthy and fruitful by diligently reading the Bible, engaging in private prayer, keeping the Lord’s Day, regularly attending the worship of God, observing the appointed Sacraments, and giving to the Lord’s work according to their abilities.
  • Jesus is King over all creation right now and all nations, societies, and people need to honor Him as King.
  • Jesus extends His Kingdom by saving sinners and by sanctifying saints.
  • Jesus established Presbyterianism as the biblical form of church government.
  • Jesus is coming soon to judge the living and the dead.
